Sabrier & Paunet

With a common passion for Old Master drawings, Yasmina Sabrier and Marianne Paunet decided in 2023 to join their forces and expertise to bring in their unique vision.

For their inaugural exhibition in June 2023, the new duo showcased Neapolitan drawings from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries against a modern backdrop. With a published catalog, their exhibition was highly acclaimed and closed with the acquisition by the Musée d’Orsay of a Vincenzo Gemito work. Sabrier & Paunet will regularly host ephemeral exhibitions, sharing their aesthetic preferences by showing carefully selecting works on paper presented within a contemporary twist.

Immersed in the contemporary art world for more than 15 years, Sabrier, a trained lawyer, is always in search of treasures in fairs, biennials, schools of fine arts around the world, or among private collectors. In a contrasting parallel, she has been delving for some years now into the world of the Old Master arts and works on paper, studying about them and personally investigating their footsteps and connections. Sabrier is also a writer. She won the First Novel Prize in France 2003 with Bahia Blues and was selected among the finalists for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize in 2008.

Paunet studied at the École du Louvre and the ESSEC Business School. She is an expert in the graphic arts of the 17th and 18th centuries and is currently working on the monograph of Antoine Dieu, a virtuoso French draftsman of the 17th century between Charles Le Brun and Antoine Watteau. After a number of work experiences in France and internationally in highly reputed schools, institutions, museums and auction house, she most recently worked at the Michel Descours gallery in Paris where she fully stepped into the fine and ancient art market, with the Salon du Dessin in Paris or Tefaf Maastricht, among others.
