A museum and independent research library located in the heart of New York City, the Morgan Library & Museum began as the personal library of financier, collector, and cultural benefactor Pierpont Morgan. As early as 1890 Morgan had begun to assemble a collection of illuminated, literary, and historical manuscripts, early printed books, and old master drawings and prints.

The Drawing Study Center
The Drawing Study Center, designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and completed in 1999, is generally used for group visits and classes, and serves as an additional consultation space for the collection of drawings and prints. To make an appointment to consult material from the Department of Drawings and Prints, please complete the required Reading Room application.
